Choose the correct A220 variant

The A220-100 and A220-300 are separate profiles. Select the exact variant used by your simulator add-on before entering weight, because each profile has its own limits, presets and baseline V-speed table.

Confirm whether your add-on displays weight in kilograms or pounds. The interface can convert units, but the selected value must still represent actual takeoff gross weight rather than zero-fuel or landing weight.

Enter runway and atmospheric data

Search by ICAO to load runway information, then select the planned departure direction. Check runway length, takeoff shift, elevation and calculated slope. Add OAT, QNH and wind or import the latest available METAR.

A reciprocal runway can produce a very different result because headwind becomes tailwind and uphill slope becomes downhill. The effective runway is physical length minus takeoff shift.

Understanding the A220 output

V1 is the modelled decision speed, VR is the rotation speed and V2 is the takeoff safety speed target. The calculator also estimates FLEX temperature, flap/trim information and retraction-speed references for simulator use.

Treat the output as a consistent planning aid, not as official aircraft data. Differences between simulator add-ons are expected because flight models, engine variants and embedded EFB logic may use different datasets.

When to calculate again

Run the calculation again after a change of runway, intersection, weight, weather or aircraft configuration. A fresh METAR can alter wind components, pressure altitude and temperature enough to change the recommended simulator entries.

If the tool reports a warning or TOGA, review the limiting input rather than manually increasing FLEX.
